Ebbsfleet United have warned they could face a winding up order unless they find £37,000 before Monday.

The Fleet’s hierarchy, and owners, MyFootballClub.co.uk have been in talks all week about their future, and need to find £100,000 before the end of the financial year, May 31 to pay bills.

But it has now emerged the Gravesend club needs £37,000 by noon on Monday, April 29, to pay a tax bill otherwise they risk facing a winding up order.

Last weekend the club’s owners web based membership group, MyFC, voted on the idea of transferring three quarters of their shares to fans group, The Fleet Trust, and the remaining quarter to Ebbsfleet United director Phil Sonsara.

Since taking over ownership of the club in February 2008, MyFC have seen their membership dwindle from 32,000, to around 1,000 this year which ha caused major cash from problems for the Stonebridge Road outfit.

Players and staff have not received full payment for the last month’s wages, in which they have been relegated from the Blue Square Premier.

In that time an anti MyFC fans group, called Fans Against MyFC, has been formed and received more than 500 signatures wanting them out of the club.

Today fans group, The Fleet Trust issued the following statement: “The Fleet Trust board attended a meeting at the club today where we were informed that if £37,000 is not paid to HMRC by 12pm on Monday they will apply for a winding up order.

“We need everyone to donate what they can this weekend to help us prevent this from happening. The more money we can raise the better position we can put the club in to attempt to negotiate on Monday.

“The Trust would ask you donate here www.fleet-trust.co.uk/donate-now.php or you can e mail me for our bank account details - emily@fleet-trust.co.uk

“All money will be ring fenced for these negotiations. If a payment scheme can be agreed and the threat of the winding up order removed then the money will be passed to HMRC.

“The Fleet Trust would like to thank all supporters for their continued efforts. This is a massive challenge and we ask you all to dig deep and help however you can. “Please spread the message, try your local pubs, workplaces anywhere that might be able to help.

“The time for arguments is over now and I’d ask everyone for this weekend to please focus on getting cash in.”
